VR Plus Shield® High-Perm, a three-layer reflective insulation commonly used on 1-5/8? metal hat channel, has an R-value of 7.0. The company is announcing that VR Plus Shield® Hi-Perm can also be used on 7/8? metal hat channel and will achieve an R-value of 5.0. The products? R-values meet Florida?s Performance and Prescriptive codes.

Normally, VR Plus Shield® High-Perm is installed using a spray adhesive to secure the tabs to metal furring. However, the new tape-tab version features double-sided tape on each side for quick and easy installation on metal furring. The convenient tape tabs replace the need for spray adhesives, effectively eliminating all related safety requirements.

The new Tape Tab VR Plus Shield® High-Perm is also more cost-effective. It replaces two or more cans of spray adhesive per 500 square foot rolls; it?s less expensive than the manual application of double-sided tape; and it?s possible to install more insulation in less time.
